High schools in Carpinteria
Carpinteria is a small coastal town just south of Santa Barbara. Within this guide’s scope, its high school is Cate School — a private, college-preparatory boarding and day school founded in 1910, set on a mesa above the town.
Carpinteria also has a public comprehensive high school (Carpinteria High School, in the Carpinteria Unified School District), but it sits outside this guide’s Santa Barbara–city scope and isn’t profiled here. Families weighing Carpinteria against the city itself can look just up the coast to Santa Barbara’s public campuses — Santa Barbara High School and San Marcos High School — and Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta.
