About

Established in 1966, Dos Pueblos High School is part of the Santa Barbara Unified School District but sits just west of the city in Goleta. It is best known for the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy, a competitive four-year program founded by MacArthur Fellow Amir Abo-Shaeer, and for offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. Four-year project-based engineering and applied STEM program founded by MacArthur Fellow Amir Abo-Shaeer.

A competitive four-year engineering academy with ~112 students per grade level, organized into Rotation Groups of ~27 students. Nationally recognized hands-on engineering curriculum.

Entry: Apply in 8th grade for 9th-grade entry.
Selectivity: Competitive, application-based with a math-readiness requirement; ~112 students admitted per grade.
How to apply: Apply online during 8th grade (e.g., application due ~December 13 with a 3-6 minute application video due ~early January). Applicants must be enrolled in Math 8 (or higher) in 8th grade and demonstrate math readiness by scoring 3 or 4 on the spring CAASPP math assessment OR on DPEA's alternative math assessment.
